The Illusive Eye (El Ojo Iluso) is a meeting to celebrate the work of artists, communicators, publicists, educators and fans who throughout the planet explore the language of animation to tell stories, develop video games, titles, applications or give it a shape creative information they want to promote by different media.

Short films from more than 30 countries gathered on 2020, 2021 and 2022 EL OJO ILUSO International Animated Film Festival editions, the only one of its kind in Venezuela, as an initiative of the Bordes Foundation and the collective FUNDAJAU, from the Andean city of San Cristóbal, Táchira state. This event had a large participation both in its face-to-face and online versions.

Animation constitutes one of the main audiovisual formats that in recent years has gained a great space in world film production, generating great interest in the public, offering them the enjoyment of universes and creative illusions, thanks to the enormous current technological possibilities in this area.

@ElOjoIlusoFest is presented seeking to bring together and exhibit animation works for all ages and audiences, with narratives and experimental proposals for children, adolescents and adults, which in addition to entertaining, invite a critical analysis of historical and current realities.

This year, the appointment is May, we hope to have a face-to-face version, in addition to the one that will be remotely.

As in the first, second and third edition, a specialized jury will evaluate the material received from all around the world, awarding recognitions in the COMPETITION LINES:

1. Animated fiction short film (less than 20 minutes)
2. Animated children’s short film (less than 20 minutes)
3. Animated documentary short film (less than 20 minutes)
4. Animated series
5. Animated Music Video
6. Animated Video Art (less than 20 minutes)
7. Infographic, instructional or didactic animation (since 30 seconds)
8. Advertising or Promotional Animation (since 10 seconds)
9. Animation for social media (since 5 seconds)
10. Credits Animation (Intro / Outro)
11. Animation for User Interfaces (UI) Applications, Videogames and Web Pages
12. Animation of Logos or Visual Identity Marks
13. Animated Visual Effects (VFX)

Bordes Cultural Foundation has grown in appreciation of diversity. We are passionate about challenging boundaries and boundaries between genres and trades, as well as promoting ingenuity and creativity in all its forms.
