It is with great enthusiasm that we address you on this occasion to request your valuable contribution to this edition of the Animation Film Festival «El Ojo Iluso». This event, born in San Cristobal, Tachira state, is the result of the initiative of the Bordes Cultural Foundation, an institution dedicated to promoting the arts and cultural studies in the Venezuelan Andean region.
The name of the festival, «El Ojo Iluso» (The Illusive Eye), refers to the illusion of movement created by still images, highlighting the importance of the eye and the moving image in contemporary visual culture. The main objective of this event is to promote animated films among the new generations, showing the diverse possibilities that this genre offers worldwide.
In this edition, we have received animation short films from all over the world and we offer a wide range of activities such as workshops, talks and exhibitions of unique materials that are difficult to find in other instances. Likewise, the festival distinguishes itself by awarding broad and transdisciplinary categories within the field of animation, encouraging the diversity of expressions and styles.
In addition, we are proud to highlight the pedagogical approach that characterizes the event, with talks, lectures, masterclasses and workshops given by experts in the field, with the purpose of stimulating the creation and professionalization of animation in our region.
It should be noted that, although the festival will be held in person in San Cristobal, we will also have an online room where people from all over the world can enjoy the festival live and participate virtually in all scheduled activities. Art and animation know no geographical boundaries!
Your contribution will not only support the realization of this international festival, but will also allow the community to immerse itself in an enriching artistic environment and learn about the latest trends in animation both nationally and internationally.

Es con gran entusiasmo que nos dirigimos a ustedes en esta ocasión para solicitar su valiosa contribución a esta edición del Festival de Cine de Animación «El Ojo Iluso». Este evento, nacido en San Cristóbal, estado Táchira, es el resultado de la iniciativa de la Fundación Cultural Bordes, una institución dedicada a promover las artes y los estudios culturales en la región andina venezolana.
El nombre del festival, «El Ojo Iluso», hace referencia a la ilusión de movimiento creada por las imágenes fijas, destacando la importancia del ojo y la imagen en movimiento en la cultura visual contemporánea. Este evento tiene como objetivo principal impulsar el cine de animación entre las nuevas generaciones, mostrando las diversas posibilidades que este género ofrece a nivel mundial.
En esta edición, hemos recibido cortometrajes de animación de todo el mundo y ofrecemos una amplia gama de actividades como talleres, charlas y exposiciones de materiales únicos que son difíciles de encontrar en otras instancias. Asimismo, el festival se distingue por premiar categorías amplias y transdisciplinarias dentro del ámbito de la animación, fomentando la diversidad de expresiones y estilos.
Además, nos enorgullece destacar el enfoque pedagógico que caracteriza al evento, con charlas, conversatorios, masterclass y talleres impartidos por expertos en el campo, con el propósito de estimular la creación y la profesionalización de la animación en nuestra región.
Cabe destacar que, aunque el festival se llevará a cabo de manera presencial en San Cristóbal, también contaremos con una sala online donde personas de todo el mundo podrán disfrutar del festival en vivo y participar de forma virtual en todas las actividades programadas. ¡El arte y la animación no conocen fronteras geográficas!
Vuestra contribución no solo respaldará la realización de este festival internacional, sino que también permitirá que la comunidad se sumerja en un ambiente artístico enriquecedor y conozca las últimas tendencias en animación tanto a nivel nacional como internacional.
