Open Call: International Animation Film Festival EL OJO ILUSO 2021
The Illusive Eye (El Ojo Iluso) is a meeting to celebrate the work of artists, communicators, publicists, educators and fans who throughout the planet explore the language of animation to tell stories, develop video games, titles, applications or give it a shape creative information they want to promote by different media.
Short films from more than 10 countries gathered on July 24 and 25, 2020 in the first edition of the EL OJO ILUSO International Animated Film Festival, the only one of its kind in Venezuela, as an initiative of the Bordes Foundation and the collective FUNDAJAU, from the Andean city of San Cristóbal, Táchira state. This event had a large participation both in its face-to-face and online versions.
Animation constitutes one of the main audiovisual formats that in recent years has gained a great space in world film production, generating great interest in the public, offering them the enjoyment of universes and creative illusions, thanks to the enormous current technological possibilities in this area.
@ElOjoIluso is presented seeking to bring together and exhibit animation works for all ages and audiences, with narratives and experimental proposals for children, adolescents and adults, which in addition to entertaining, invite a critical analysis of historical and current realities.
This year, the appointment is May 21 and 22, we hope to have a face-to-face version, in addition to the one that will be remotely.
As in the first edition, a specialized jury will evaluate the material received from different parts of the world, awarding recognitions in the COMPETITION LINES:
1. Animated short film (less than 20 minutes)
2. Animated children’s short film (less than 20 minutes)
3. Advertising or Promotional Animation (since 10 seconds)
4. Animation for social networks (since 5 seconds)
5. Infographic, instructional or didactic animation (since 30 seconds)
6. Animated Music Video
7. Animated Video Art
8. Credits Animation (Intro / Outro)
9. Animation for User Interfaces (UI) Applications, Videogames and Web Pages
10. Animation of Logos or Visual Identity Marks
11. Animated Visual Effects (VFX)
All artists interested in participating can submit their work until April 20th, 2021, through international platforms (Know the Bases and the Categories in detail over there):
For animations corresponding to works of very short duration that are not registered in these 3 platforms, specifically in the categories: Advertising animation, Animation for social networks, Credits Animation (Intro / Outro), User Interface Animation, and Animation of Logos, international participants can send their REGISTRATION request by writing via e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org: Director’s name, animation title, country, year, animation file (or download link), together with the image of payment by PayPal (email@example.com) with an amount of 6 dollars for the registration of each work to apply, until April 25th, 2021.
